The Alliance for Retired Americans endorses Donna Shalala for Congress

Organization supports Shalala due to her “strong commitment to improve the quality of life for older Americans”

Miami, FL – The Alliance for Retired Americans which represents 4.4 million retirees, older Americans and community activists, has endorsed Donna Shalala for Congress.

“Your leadership on issues such as preserving and protecting Social Security and Medicare from privatization and benefit cuts ensures these programs will be around for current and future generations,” the Alliances stated in its official endorsement. “In addition, our members support your candidacy because of your belief in the need to provide more affordable health care for older Americans, as well as the need for stronger retirement and pension security, and quality long-term care.”

“I am honored to have the endorsement of the Alliance for Retired Americans,” Donna Shalala said. “As President Trump and congressional Republicans continue to enact policies that hurt our senior citizens and increase their health care costs, it is critical that we elect representatives that will stand up for our older Americans by strengthening Social Security and Medicare.”
