Momentum building for Shalala with two weeks to go
CORAL GABLES, FL- A new poll conducted by the New York Times and Sienna College shows that with just two weeks to go before election day Donna Shalala is gaining momentum. The poll, conducted October 15-19, gives Shalala a seven-point lead as early voting begins.
“We’re excited to see excitement and support for our campaign continuing to grow as voters begin going to the polls today,” said Shalala campaign manager, William Washington. “Voters know that there is only one person in this race who will go to Washington and fight to bring down healthcare costs, reign in prescription drug prices, takes on the NRA and stand up to climate change deniers. While we’re excited about this result there’s still work to be done communicating Donna’s vision to every voter in this district and finishing strong.”
President Trump and Congressional Republicans remain deeply unpopular with voters in the district which will continue to be a drag for Maria Elvira Salazar. Trump’s approval stands at 41 percent, well below the national average. When asked if Democrats or Republicans should control Congress voters chose Democrats by a 9 point margin.
